Refund & Cancellation Policy

Effective Date: 31 August 2026

At TigerTrail.in, we aim to keep our cancellation and refund procedures clear and easy to understand. Refund eligibility depends on the type of service booked, the time of cancellation, the status of the reservation, and the rules of the relevant service provider or government authority.

By placing a booking through TigerTrail, you acknowledge and accept the refund and cancellation conditions applicable to that booking.

1. Safari Booking Refund Policy

Safari permits and entry reservations are subject to the rules of the concerned Forest Department and Tiger Reserve authorities.

Confirmed Safari Permits

Once a safari permit has been officially generated and issued, the safari booking is generally non-refundable and non-transferable, except where the applicable government authority specifically permits a refund.

This applies to both Gypsy and Canter safaris.

Customer-requested cancellation after permit issuance normally does not qualify for a refund.

2. Safari Cancellation Due to Official Park Closure

If a safari is cancelled because the Tiger Reserve or the concerned safari zone is officially closed by the competent authority, the refund will be handled according to the rules applicable to that closure.

TigerTrail will initiate the eligible refund after receiving or verifying the necessary confirmation from the relevant authority or safari operator.

Important: A refund cannot be guaranteed solely because of rain, poor weather, or personal inconvenience. The closure must be officially declared by the competent authority.

Where a government authority permits only a partial refund, the amount actually refundable to the customer will be limited to the amount released by the authority, after applicable service or transaction charges where permitted.

3. Chambal Boat Safari

Chambal Boat Safari reservations may involve advance commitments for boats, guides, permits, and other operational arrangements.

Therefore, once a booking has been confirmed, the amount may be non-refundable, subject to the cancellation terms of the concerned operator.

If the service is cancelled by the operator or competent authority, any eligible refund will be processed according to their applicable rules.

4. Current / Tatkal Safari Bookings

Current and Tatkal reservations are dependent on last-minute availability and confirmation from the relevant authority.

Confirmation timing can vary depending on the safari date, shift, availability, and government booking system.

If the Safari Is Not Confirmed

If TigerTrail receives payment but the requested safari cannot be successfully confirmed, the eligible amount for the unconfirmed service will generally be refunded.

Any non-refundable payment gateway, transaction, or service charges will be handled according to the terms communicated at the time of booking.

If the Safari Is Confirmed

Once the safari is successfully confirmed and the permit has been issued, the booking will generally become non-refundable, subject to the applicable authority rules.

Customer Cancellation Before Confirmation

If a customer requests cancellation before confirmation, any applicable processing or cancellation charge will be deducted according to the booking conditions communicated at the time of reservation.

5. Tour Package Cancellation Policy

For packages combining services such as hotel accommodation, safari, transportation, sightseeing, meals, or other activities, cancellation charges may vary depending on the individual services included.

Unless a different cancellation schedule is specifically mentioned in your booking confirmation, the following general policy may apply:

Cancellation Before Arrival Cancellation Charge
30 days or more 20% of package value
15–29 days 30% of package value
7–14 days 40% of package value
2–6 days 50% of package value
Less than 48 hours / No-show No refund

The date of arrival is not counted when calculating the cancellation period.

Important Package Conditions

  • The safari component of a package remains subject to the applicable safari permit cancellation rules.
  • Hotel cancellation charges are determined by the hotel’s booking policy.
  • Advance booking, reservation, or holding charges may be non-refundable.
  • Government fees, permit charges, taxes, payment gateway fees, and third-party service charges may not be refundable.
  • Special packages may have different cancellation conditions.
  • Peak-season bookings may carry stricter cancellation terms.

The cancellation policy specifically displayed or communicated for your booking will take precedence over the general schedule above.

6. Hotel Cancellation & Refunds

Hotel reservations are governed by the cancellation policy applicable to the selected property and room rate.

Some reservations may be:

  • Fully refundable until a specified date.
  • Partially refundable.
  • Non-refundable.
  • Subject to cancellation charges based on the number of days before check-in.

For prepaid or promotional hotel rates, refunds may not be available after confirmation.

Customers should check the cancellation conditions shown during booking before making payment.

7. Booking Not Confirmed Due to Technical Problems

If TigerTrail receives payment but a requested service cannot be booked because of:

  • Technical problems,
  • Seat or room unavailability,
  • Payment-system errors,
  • Booking-system failure, or
  • Other reasons preventing successful confirmation,

TigerTrail will arrange a refund of the eligible amount received for the affected service.

The refund will normally be returned through the original payment method.

8. Vehicle or Service Changes

Safari vehicle allocation and operational arrangements are controlled by the concerned authority or safari operator.

If the vehicle type is changed by the operator or authority—for example, from Canter to Gypsy or from Gypsy to Canter—the applicable price adjustment, if any, will be handled according to the service provider’s rules.

Where a confirmed price difference is refundable, TigerTrail will process the eligible difference to the customer.

9. Peak Season & Special Dates

Bookings made during periods of exceptionally high demand may have separate cancellation conditions.

These may include:

  • Holi
  • Diwali
  • Christmas
  • New Year
  • Long weekends
  • Public holidays
  • School holidays
  • Special events

Any special cancellation conditions applicable to such bookings will be communicated before or at the time of confirmation.

10. What Is Generally Not Refundable?

Unless specifically stated otherwise, the following may be non-refundable:

  1. Government permit charges after permit issuance.
  2. Non-refundable safari reservations.
  3. Non-refundable hotel rates.
  4. Booking or reservation charges.
  5. Payment gateway or transaction charges.

  • Service-provider rules
  • Government regulations
  • Payment status
  • Applicable cancellation charges

The customer will be informed of the refund amount, if any, after the review is completed.

13. Refund Processing Time

Once a refund is approved, TigerTrail will normally initiate it within 7–14 business days, depending on the service provider and payment method.

The time taken for the amount to appear in the customer’s bank account or card may vary according to the bank, payment gateway, card network, or financial institution.

TigerTrail is not responsible for delays occurring after the refund has been successfully initiated by us.

14. Original Payment Method

Where possible, approved refunds will be returned to the same payment method used for the original transaction.

In certain situations, an alternative method such as NEFT or IMPS may be used after appropriate verification.

TigerTrail may request additional information to verify the customer’s identity or payment ownership before processing a refund.

15. Force Majeure & Unavoidable Events

TigerTrail cannot be held responsible for cancellations, delays, interruptions, or changes caused by circumstances outside our reasonable control.

Examples include:

  • Severe weather
  • Heavy rainfall
  • Floods
  • Natural disasters
  • Fire
  • Government restrictions
  • Forest Department orders
  • Wildlife-management decisions
  • Park or zone closures
  • Strikes or public disturbances
  • Road closures
  • Transportation disruption
  • Technical or system failures
  • Other unforeseen circumstances

Where such an event occurs, TigerTrail will make reasonable efforts to assist customers and process any refund that is actually available under the applicable authority or service-provider policy.

16. Wildlife & Safari Disclaimer

TigerTrail does not guarantee the sighting of a tiger or any other particular wildlife species.

A safari may proceed without a particular wildlife sighting, and the absence of sightings does not constitute grounds for a refund.

Safari routes, zones, vehicle allocation, entry timings, and operational decisions remain subject to the relevant authorities.

17. Provisional Reservations

Certain reservations may initially be provisional until they are confirmed by the relevant hotel, safari operator, Forest Department, or other authority.

A provisional reservation does not guarantee final availability unless a confirmed booking or permit has been issued.

Government authorities may modify operational arrangements, zone allocation, entry conditions, or other safari-related arrangements in accordance with applicable regulations.

18. Third-Party Refund Rules

Some services offered through TigerTrail are provided by independent third parties.

These may include:

  • Hotels
  • Safari operators
  • Boat operators
  • Transport providers
  • Local guides
  • Activity providers
  • Government-authorized booking systems

Where a third-party provider determines the refund amount, TigerTrail will follow the applicable provider policy and cannot refund an amount that has not been released or approved by that provider.

19. Customer Cancellation & No-Show

If a customer fails to arrive for a confirmed service without cancelling within the applicable cancellation period, the booking may be treated as a no-show.

No-show bookings are generally not eligible for a refund, unless the applicable provider specifically allows one.

20. Policy Changes

TigerTrail may update this Refund & Cancellation Policy when required because of changes in government regulations, service-provider policies, payment procedures, or business operations.

The policy applicable to a booking will generally be the policy communicated at the time the booking was confirmed, subject to mandatory changes required by law or government authorities.
